Steel Fabriction Workflow Example
Emergency Access Gantry within a Confined Area
1: SCAN
Image on the left shows existing railway arch's which were recently rendered in preporation of Survey before design works.
2: DESIGN / MODEL
Utilising scan data a steel frame model is developed within the building envelop, incoprating design, coordination & required building regulations.
3: FABRICATE
The model is divided into fabrication parts in the of an assembly sheet, individel part models & bill of materials
4: INSTALL
Fabrication parts are assembled during manufacture to ensure componants are as designed aand fit for use. The final structure is finished and reconstructed onsite. A robotic total station is used to precisely setout bolt and connection points back into the building fabric.
5: VALIDATION
A final scan is completed for installation Quality Audit.
At the same time this process captures valuable record information required for client submission.

Scan

Using our in house digital team.
We use industry leading techonlogy to digitally map a project creating a
Digital Twin.

Millions points of data points are captured providing the accuracy need from the start of the project

Design & Model

A bespoke model can then be created within this mapped environment where it is analysed and tested.

We are able to create multiple concepts to ensure we are meeting our clients needs.
We also conduct installation and logistics. Timeline models which feed into step 4.

Fabricate

Once a Model has been approved it is dissected into fabrication parts still within a virtual space ready for manufacture.

These parts are then related to Bells Fabrication for Steel & Modular work and also to Bells M&E for services fabrication

Install

Bells lifting and installation teams are briefed on logistics & installtion requirments planned in step 2.

We incorporated Robotic setting out systems during this process ensuring they are working within tolerance.
5
Validate

Final checks, our digital team periodically scans installed components, issuing compliance check reports after each visit.

If a change has occurred then these reports are used to update the final record model before issuing it to our client.
